As a mother who doesn't drive, I'm used to catching local transit with two kids in deep snow. A well-connected and reliable transportation system and infrastructure enable us to build towards a better future. As a person with a disability, I rely on public transportation for mobility. I understand full-well the vital role transportation and safe roadways play in the success of everyone in Olmsted County.
The affordable housing crisis is indisputable. The county is uniquely positioned to lead efforts to ease the strain on our families. As county commissioner, I will work to find solutions to our most basic needs and collaborate with our partners at the state and city level.
I will work to ensure the integration and accessibility of county human and social services to reduce the burden on families and individuals needing career guidance, housing, and healthcare. Our services must continue to move towards a person-centered approach, where each person is the center of focus and treated with honesty, dignity, and respect.
From the delivery of services to building projects and roadways, I will advocate for those of all racial and economic backgrounds to ensure county decisions and spending benefit all communities.
The County has a responsibility in being a leader in environmental health. As a commissioner, I will advocate for all decisions to be made through a framework of environmental consciousness while collaborating with local environmental professionals.
